We have unfortunately had a report of aggressive pavement riding through the high street involving a Voi scooter.
There are currently no provisions for hire scooter use on any of the footways within Kings Heath, except for designated parking. Riding on the footway is strictly prohibited except where a designated cycle route or facility exists as hire e-scooters to have the same rite of passage as pedal bicycles.
We hope that this is an isolated incident and that people continue to use the scooters respectfully. E-Scooters aim to give the community a more sustainable way of travelling, however, they should be used safely and responsibly. This will ensure the correct penalties are administered to the rider and hopefully reduce the minority that uses these irresponsibly.
