Kev and the team at BMBC are buzzing to resume the BLACK MARKET BARBER COMPANY Art Market next month, showcasing the incredible work of Joel Millerchip – not only one of the most talented illustrators in Brum he’s also one of Kevan’s top boys!
The launch of the month long exhibition will take place in the barbershop on Thursday 3rd August at 7.30pm – come down for the usual street beers, musical vibes and get submerged in the art!

What can you expect on the night?

Joel Millerchip will be launching a new zine called Submerged on the night, and exhibiting original artworks from the zine.
Tarmac is broken fragments of stone surrounded by deep black tar which is poured into man made and naturally worn holes to make even surface for life to keep moving nice and smoothly.
When life stops and minds wonder, a sinking feeling that can be submerged in time and stillness that can overwhelm and isolate individuals.
Submerged is a collection of drawings that displays individual sinking feeling in its simplest form, by depicting humans submerged in emotional paths of dark tarmac.
The ideas of love, loss and identity have been the triggers to create this collection of words and images.
