Capture Kings Heath is back! For a 5th year running, we’re bringing you our popular annual photography competition so that we can remind ourselves of the beauty that exists at a time where all the clouds seem a bit darker. Every cloud has a silver lining, and there’s still so much left to enjoy of Summer here in Kings Heath, so it’s time to summon your inner photographer and get snap-happy over the next 6 weeks.

Yes, from Thursday 6th August through to midday on Wednesday 16th September, we want you to show us what it is that you love about Kings Heath. You might have a favourite walking trail or view, perhaps you can’t get enough of our high street or our markets, or maybe you just love a Summer day in the park. Many of us have renewed our connection with nature and our community this year to help keep us going throughout a very difficult lockdown. Share these experiences with us through your entries, we’d love to see them! Send your entries to photography@enjoykingsheath.com

Whether you consider yourself an amateur or a professional, or you’re simply an insta-holic, you’re invited to submit as many entries as you like. The more entries you do submit, the higher your chances of winning! You can use your smartphone or a professional camera, a disposable camera or even a polaroid, just get out there and get snapping.

As usual, 2 winners will be announced on Thursday 24th September following both a public vote via Facebook, and a winning entry selected by a panel of expert judges. Both winners will receive a generous cash prize and their photographs will be seen by thousands of people! If it’s inspiration you’re after, look no further than our Facebook, where albums full of past entries from the last 4 years can be found. Once this year’s entries have been collected, we’ll upload them all to Facebook for a week-long public vote based on the number of likes each picture has.

Good luck, and happy snapping!

Please note, Kings Heath BID may use photographs entered into the Capture Kings Heath competition for future purposes, such as the Enjoy Kings Heath website or social media. If you would like to opt out, please let us know when submitting your entries.
