We’re half way into January already, and we’re starting the New Year in Kings Heath as we mean to go on, with plenty happening this weekend to beat those January blues on a budget!

Is your goal for 2017 to get more fresh air and exercise? Join Kings Heath Running Club this Saturday morning at their beginner sessions and smash your New Year’s Resolution! This session caters for complete beginners, and they also have two midweek sessions on Tuesday and Thursday for more advanced runners.  Membership is only £42, and you can download a form from the website here.

Free Craft Activities | Togademus | Poplar Road | 9.30am-4.30pm

January is a hard month for you parents – money can be tight and the kids are already bored of their toys off Santa. Queue Togademus! They’re running free craft activities every Saturday throughout January to keep the little ones entertained and the parents sane, and this weekend it’s “make a paper animal” or “colour a glider plane.” No need to book, just drop in from 9.30am. With January in full swing and the statistically most depressing day of the year looming, get out this Friday and defeat those pesky January blues! Armed with a set list of all of our favourite tracks, everyone’s favourite cover band DPC are on hand to cheer us up during the most miserable time of the year. Bringing us the best music events here in the Heath over the past years, it’s time to celebrate 10 years of This is TMRW. Come Vinyl With Me | Fletchers Bar | York Road | 6pm

Start the New Year off as you mean to go on with good music and great company at our monthly Come Vinyl With Me session. Just pick the records you want to hear and serve up three courses of musical delight to your fellow muso’s.
