February 2, 2021

We all know that the past 12 months have been incredibly challenging; for our businesses, our staff, our homes and our families. For the customers and footfall we rely on and for the community that is Kings Heath.

Your BID has faced its own challenges and, as it always has been, is led by a group of voluntary directors who have continued to look after the BID’s interests as well as dealing with all of these other pressures too.

This is why the Kings Heath BID Board of Directors is pleased to announce that with immediate effect, local resident and BID expert, Matt Powell, is joining us as interim Town Centre Manager.

Matt has been a director of nationwide regeneration company, Revive & Thrive, for the past eight years and in that time has worked with town centre partnerships, BIDs and other business groups up and down the country and has been directly involved in over ten distinct BID development or renewal campaigns.

Matt has lived in Kings Heath, on the border of the BID area, for nearly eleven years and has previously supported the BID in a voluntary capacity. With children and a partner all attending or teaching at local schools, he is fully acquainted with Kings Heath town centre and with our BID and brings his experience from other towns and high streets to help see us through what will inevitably be a difficult start to 2021 into what will hopefully be a more positive spring and summer.

Matt’s immediate priorities will be to support the Directors in making sure that our BID can continue to work with businesses across the BID area at this incredibly challenging time to ensure that we are all in a position to re-open Kings Heath for a successful future for us all.

With no end in sight to the current lockdown, it is hard to say what that future might look like, but we do know that our little part of Birmingham has always worked best when we have worked together to create a busy, friendly environment that people of all ages can enjoy.

You can contact Matt using the BID’s existing channels: telephone 0121 444 5166 or 07703 467712 or by emailing: info@enjoykingsheath.com
